Eminem - Recovery. Poster Analysis

As the picture shows, there are two posters to promote the selling of this album. The poster on the left shows Eminem seated, releaxing watching television while surrounded by over towering buildings. This relaxation can be related to the title of the album "Recovery" as people usually relax when they are in need of recovering. The dominate buildings could possibly be used to show Eminem as a small person in a big city. The title "recovery" itself is large and prominant, so you cant miss it. The O is replaced by an aid symbol which is signifcant to recovery as in some cases you would require first aid or even a hospital or specific centre. From certain research I was made aware that Eminem spent some time in rehab for a duration of time. Therfore, this shows how his own self can relate directly to his album as he articulates his thoughts and feelings.

The poster on the right hand sign shows Eminem himself walking down a long road. This suggests that he has endured a long journey on the road to recover and hasnt gave up. The colours in both posters are dull and dismal which connotes depression and a struggle. For example, if bright colours were used you wouldnt associate this with a struggle that required a recovery.
